Physiology and biochemistry of microorganisms. Modern contributions to microbiology emphasized. Micro- and macro-molecular anatomy of microbial cells; energy metabolism, biosynthetic pathways and their regulation, kinetic and molecular aspects of growth, genetics, evolution, and ecology. also offered for graduate-level credit as Bi 581 and may be taken only once for credit.
