Bi 211 Principles of Biology I

Study of the basic principles of living organisms. The course will study both plants and animals and topics will include cell structure, energy production synthesis, nutrition, genetics, evolution, classification, excretion mechanisms of response, reproduction and development, and ecology. Four hours lecture. This is the first course in a sequence of three: Bi 211, Bi 212, Bi 213 and must be taken in sequence. Expected preparation: Completion of Ch 221 and Ch 227, or concurrent enrollment in Ch 221 and Ch 227. Co-requisite: Bi 214.
