ArH 385 Western Art in the 20th Century

A chronological survey of modern and postmodern art in Europe and the U.S. in the 20th century. This is the first course in a sequence of three: ArH 383: from Art Nouveau to Surrealism; ArH 384: from American Scene Painting through the rebellious sixties; ArH 385: from Conceptual art through the end of the century. Open to non-majors. Prerequsite: ArH 206 and upper-division standing.
