Chn 520 Readings in Chinese Literature

Reading, analysis, and discussion of representative literary texts. Chn 420 focuses on pre-modern topics such as "Traditional Chinese Fiction" and "Chinese Classical Masterpieces," while Chn 421 addresses primarily twentieth-century topics such as "Chinese Nativist Literature" or "Chinese Urban Literature." This is the first course in a sequence of two: Chn 520 and Chn 521. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Chn 420 and may be taken only once for credit. Recommended prerequisites: Chn 303; Chn 304, 311, 312.
