ArH 591 20th Century Art

A chronological survey of modern and postmodern art in Europe and the U.S. in the 20th century. ArH 591: from Art Nouveau  to Surrealism; ArH 592: from American Scene Painting through the rebellious sixties; ArH 593: from Conceptual art through the end of the century. This is the first course in a sequence of three: ArH 591, ArH 592, and ArH 593. Also ofered as undergraduate-level credit as ArH 491 and may be taken only once for credit. Open to non-majors. Prerequisites: ArH 206 or permission of the instructor.
