Epi 613 Epidemiologic Methods

This course develops intermediate skills in the design, analysis, and interpretation of epidemiologic studies. Students learn to identify strengths and limitations of major study designs; evaluate the roles of bias, confounding, and effect modification; and interpret measures of association and effect. Emphasis is placed on applying epidemiologic methods to real-world research questions through critical appraisal, problem-solving exercises, and data-based applications. The course prepares students to evaluate observational and experimental studies and provides the methodological foundation for epidemiologic reasoning and inference.
