G 352U Energy, Minerals, and the Environment

We learn about energy and mineral sources, global demand, and their impact on society and the environment. We study the science behind extraction, processing, and remediation of major minerals and sources of energy. Students explore costs and benefits of their own energy and mineral usage through a term project. We also discuss efforts to replace fossil fuels with renewables and the impact of resource consumption on global climate change.
