Soc 465 Environmental Sociology

Examines the social and political-economic roots of current global and national environmental problems. Explores theoretical frameworks for understanding the relationship between environment and society, including how social inequality relates to (un)sustainability and environmental (in)justice. Examines environmental movements in the global South and North, as well as several substantive issues that illustrate society-environment linkages, including climate change. Finally, explores a range of models and approaches for resolving environmental problems.
