Communication B.A./B.S.

All classes in the major or minor must be taken for a letter grade and only classes graded C- or better will be counted toward the major or minor. Courses taken under the undifferentiated grading system (pass/no pass) will not be counted.

Requirements

In addition to meeting the general University requirements, the student must complete a minimum of 56 credits in communication courses.

Communication electives

Of the 44 credits of communication electives,

  • At least 28 must be in upper-division (numbered 300 and above) communication studies courses, of which
  • At least 16 must be in course numbered 400 and above, of which
  • At least 12 must be in courses numbered 410 and above.
  • No more than 4 credits may be counted toward the major from courses numbered Comm 401 through Comm 409, including Communication Internship.
