Sustainability Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Sustainability provides students with an in-depth understanding of sustainability and the connections between social, environmental, and economic systems, and equips them with the knowledge to apply sustainable, integrated problem solving approaches in their lives and careers. The certificate is a 22-credit  program that consists of four core courses and two electives. The certificate is open to students from all areas of study and professional backgrounds and can be taken either by students admitted solely to the certificate program or concurrently enrolled in masters and doctoral programs at PSU. Electives

The Graduate Certificate in Sustainability requires a minimum of 7 credits of elective courses. Most graduate courses with a focus on sustainability or environmental issues will count as electives. For a list of pre approved electives see the Graduate Certificate in Sustainability website. Classes not on that list should be selected in consultation with the Graduate Program Director as advance approval may be required.
