USP 555 Land Use: Legal Aspects

Land use and planning from the legal perspective. Includes historical review of attitudes toward property tenure and ownership; the relationship between local planning and regulations; and current issues and perspectives on land use including emerging state and federal roles. Graduate students undertake a substantial independent project in addition to other requirements. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as USP 455 and may be taken only once for credit.
