SySc 651 Discrete Multivariate Modeling

This course focuses on information theory as a tool for modeling and multivariate analysis and as a general framework for the study of structure and organization. The course examines the use of set- and information-theoretic techniques for the analysis of constraints in qualitative, as well as quantitative, data. Also covered are software implementations, relations to log-linear methods, and applications in the natural and social sciences and the arts. Also offered as SySc 551 and may be taken only once for credit.
