PS 462 International Relations of the Middle East

Examination of the external dimension of Middle East politics; the role of the great powers; brief analysis of the British and French roles since 1945; extended analysis of American and Soviet/Russian policy in the Middle East. Special attention will be given to new patterns of international relations in the Middle East in the post- Cold War, post-Gulf War era. Also offered for graduate-level credit as PS 562 and may be taken only once for credit. Expected preparation: PS 361.
