PS 413 Congress

Study of the structure, organization, powers and operations of Congress. Topics covered include: the evolution of Congress, congressional recruitment and elections, legislative functions, the membership, the leaders, the committee system, the rules and procedures, executive-legislative relations, pressure groups, lobbying, and reform. Also offered for graduate-level credit as PS 513 and may be taken only once for credit. Expected preparation: PS 101 and PS 102.
