Phl 574 Philosophy of Logic

Topics: validity, sentence-proposition, connectives, quantifiers, truth, paradoxes, logical necessity and possibility. Optional topics: metalogic, the construction of formal systems of logic and formal proofs of certain of their properties, e.g., consistency and completeness. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Phl 474 and may be taken only once for credit. Recommended prerequisite: Phl 325.
