Geog 425 Field Methods in Human Geography

Field observation, description, and analysis in human geography. Students explore landscapes in Portland metropolitan region through a series of exercises including sampling techniques, field mapping, and photography supplemented by data collection from census records, tax records, historic maps and photographs, and published accounts about places. Also offered for graduate-level credit as Geog 525 and may be taken only once for credit. Recommended prerequisites: 8 credits of upper division or regional geography or graduate standing.
