ECE 448 Power System Protection

Relaying concepts, per unit calculations & symmetrical components, phasors, polarity and direction sensing, current/voltage transformers, protection fundamentals & basic design principles, system grounding principles, device protection, directional comparison, blocking & blocking pilot protection, line differential & phase comparison pilot protection, out of step tripping and blocking. Weekly Lab. Also offered for graduate-level credit as ECE 548 and may be taken only once for credit.
