Ch 551 Materials Chemistry Laboratory

A suite of laboratory experiments in modern materials chemistry. Topics include nonmolecular inorganic solids (semiconductors, superconductors, sols, and gels), thin polymeric films, magnetic and photonic materials. Equal emphasis is placed on synthesis and physical characterization. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Ch 451 and may be taken only once for credit. Expected preparation: Ch 338 or Ch 339.
