CE 480 Chemistry of Environmental Toxins

The fate and transport-related behavior of toxic compounds in the environment. Classification, nomenclature, examples of anthropogenic compounds, and case studies. Introducing the physical and chemical processes associated with air-water exchange, organic-liquid exchange, sorption processes, chemical transformations, and bioaccumulation. Also offered for graduate-level credit as CE 580 and may be taken only once for credit.
