CCJ 525 Criminal Justice Theory

This course introduces students to the theoretical work on criminal justice process, decision-making, and discretion using multiple disciplinary perspectives. Topics discussed include examination of the stages of the justice process and theoretical approaches to studying individual, organizational, system, and political behavior. Emphasis is placed on the practical utilization of theory to inform development of research problems. Also offered as CCJ 625 and may be taken only once for credit.
