BSt 302 African American Experience in the 20th Century

An upper-division course designed to examine the history of the black experience in the 20th century. Primarily a discussion-reading format augmented with speakers and films. Special consideration will be given to developing in the student the skill to re-examine traditional concepts and approaches to the study of the black experience within the broader context of mainstream developments in American life and history.
