SpEd 460 Outdoor Education/Recreation With Persons With Disabilities

Course provides a supervised practicum in a variety of outdoor activities with children, youth, and adults with disabilities. Students serve as counselor trainees, under the guidance of experienced outdoor specialists and teachers in a residential program located at the Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp. Emphasis on learning from and about persons with disabilities, teamwork within living groups, and developing outdoor and leadership skills. Also offered for graduate-level credit as SpEd 560 and may be taken only once for credit.
