Psy 486 Human Performance and Mental Workload

Introduction to mathematical and conceptual theories of how the human performs simple and complicated tasks. Topics include signal detection theory, information theory, reaction time, attention, effort. Measures and theories of mental workload will be discussed as well as what leads to cognitive overload and how it can be altered.




Recommended prerequisites: Psy 321, Stat 243 and 244, and 12 credits of psychology.
