Mus 472 Advanced Jazz Improvisation

Advanced concepts of jazz improvisation. Principles of pentatonics, diminished harmonies, inside-outside playing, synthetic scales, and free improvisation. Instructor approval required. Also offered for graduate-level credit as Mus 572 and may be taken only once for credit. This is the second course in a sequence of three: Mus 471, Mus 472, and Mus 473.
