Ling 581 World Englishes

Explores the role of English as a world language. Using film, audio tapes, and English language newspapers from around the world, students will become familiar with such Englishes as Malaysian English, Indian English, Nigerian English, and Filipino English. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Ling 481 and may be taken only once for credit.
