Hst 440 American Environmental History

Hst 440/540: A survey of North American history to 1900 from an environmental perspective with special reference to the development of environmental thought, interdisciplinary topics in environmental history, and the history of ecological thinking. This is the first course in a sequence of two: Hst 440 and Hst 441. Also offered for graduate-level credit as Hst 540 and may be taken only once for credit.
