ArH 549 Art History Methods

Seminar for juniors and seniors. Explores major approaches to the study of art history through readings, discussion, and essays. Includes the development of art history as a field and common methodologies such as iconography, gender theory, social art history, and post-modernism and post-structuralism. Open to nonmajors. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as ArH 449 and may be taken only once for credit.




Prerequisites: at least three prior upper division art history courses.
