Viewing feature and documentary films and exploring various themes including tradition and modernity, gender and sexuality, women’s rights, discrimination, ethnic minorities, refugees, identity, class, freedom of speech, censorship, oppression and resistance, diaspora, and war. Students will develop analytical and critical thinking skills to move beyond the stereotypical images portrayed by conventional media and grasp a more realistic picture of life in Iran. No prerequisites. Taught in English.
