HSMP 667 Comparative Health Systems
This graduate-level seminar course examines national health systems. In the first half of the course, the World Health Organization’s health system building blocks framework is introduced and used to appraise key components of national health systems, with the goal of improving system performance. The second half of the course is devoted to the systematic comparison of national health systems. The course draws on peer-reviewed and grey literature across disciplines. It has a balanced focus on low-, middle-, and high-income countries.
