ESM 221 Introduction to Environmental Systems II
Introduces Environmental Science and Studies majors to key principles and common practices of environmental science and environmental problem solving, including (1) identification of environmental stressors and their effects as well as the information needed to address them, (2) prediction of processes and solutions relevant to management of biodiversity by using conceptual and quantitative models, (3) interpretation of environmental data through graphical representation and statistical analysis, and (4) utilization of scientific knowledge to clearly communicate environmental problem solving in writing and short oral presentations.
Prerequisite
ESM 220 or (
ESM 101 and
ESM 102); Math 111Z (instructor will waive this prerequisite with an ALEKS score of 59). Prerequisites may be taken concurrently
