Mth 481 Foundations for Teaching Introductory Probability
Provides a foundation for planning lessons, implementing instruction, and assessing student learning in introductory probability and statistics courses. This course is intended for individuals who are prospective or current secondary teachers or college instructors. Topics include: sampling techniques, descriptive statistics, organization of data, empirical rule, Chebyshev’s Inequality, probability theory, conditional probability, Bayes’ Theorem, counting rules, random variables, discrete and continuous distributions with expectation and variance, central limit theorem and sampling distributions.
