The timeline and evolution of bilingual dual language education in the United States is examined through a sociocultural lens, in alignment with historical events that shifted educational opportunities for multilingual students. Special emphasis will be placed on the intent & reality of landmark legal cases and how the subsequent policies became part of school settings today.
