Ling 590 History of the English Language

A survey in which the development of English phonology, morphology, vocabulary, and syntax is studied through the application of modern linguistic criteria and methodology. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Ling 490 and may be taken only once for credit. Expected preparation: Ling 390.
