FILM 580 Contemporary Film Theory

A survey of film theory and criticism from the 1960s to the present day. Students are introduced to key concepts and major figures from Structuralism, Semiotics, Psychoanalysis, Feminism, and Narrative Theory. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as FILM 480 and may be taken only once for credit.
