PS 526 The Politics of the News

Explores the role of the news media in political life and the political and economic forces shaping the news. Examines the purposes and functions of mass media in a democracy, the legal and economic structure of the American media, and the journalistic practices and communications strategies that contribute to news coverage of politics. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as PS 426 and may be taken only once for credit.
