PS 424 Law, Politics, and Society

Examines connection between law and the society which creates and enforces it. Law will be studied from bottom up rather than top down. Emphasis placed on what law is, how people use law, including whetehr access to law is equal, and how the state exercises power through law. Also offered for graduate-level credit as PS 524 and may be taken only once for credit. Expected preparation: PS 221.
