Soc 456 Sociology of Horror Films

Examines core tenets of sociology through the use of horror films. Explores how gender, sexuality, race, and other forms of oppression are embedded in classic and contemporary horror films. Drawing on feminist theories, sociology of race and ethnicity, students learn to critically analyze horror films, while also conducting an independent content analysis research project.
