Mth 577 Mathematical Control Theory I

Mathematical foundations of linear time invariant control systems. Controllability, observability, stabilizability, feedback. Elements of the calculus of variations and optimal control. Dynamic programming. Pontryagin maximum principle. Applications. This is the first course in a sequence of two: Mth 577 and Mth 578. Expected preparation: Mth 253, Mth 254.
