Phl 432 Philosophy of Mind

Study of the debates over the nature of mental states and our knowledge of them. Main topics are dualism and various forms of physicalism, behaviorism, mind-body identity theories, functionalism and eliminativism. Also offered for graduate-level credit as Phl 532 and may be taken only once for credit. Expected preparation: 8 credits in philosophy.
