Ph 576 Observational Astronomy

Emphasis on hands-on activities and the observation of our own night sky. Observation of planets, sun, moon, globular clusters, galaxies, and black holes. Observational techniques including the use of telescopes, binoculars, and photography will be covered. Observational field trip to an observatory at a dark sky site. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Ph 476 and may be taken only once for credit.
