An examination of political parties and elections in America. Covers such topics as: the changing role of party organizations, machine politics, electoral rules, candidate recruitment, the nomination process, campaign strategies and tactics, campaign finance, and electoral reform. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as PS 416 and may be taken only once for credit. Expected preparation: PS 101 and PS 102.
