PS 421 The Supreme Court and American Politics

Uses selective case law in order to explore the place of the Supreme Court in America’s constitutional structure and its interpretation of the relationship between the branches of federal government. Examines the way the Court forms and shapes policy through constitutional interpretation, and the way political forces and influences shape Court practices, judicial selection, and the decision-making process. Also offered for graduate-level credit as PS 521 and may be taken only once for credit.
