ME 421 Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Design Fundamentals

Fundamental principles and methods of controlling living space environments; design of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for residential, commercial, and industrial purposes. Topics include: moist air properties (psychometrics), air conditioning processes, indoor air quality (comfort and health), heat transmission in building structures, solar radiation, space heating and cooling load analysis, energy calculations, and air conditioning systems and equipment. Also offered for graduate-level credit as ME 521 and may be taken only once for credit.
