ITP 554 Professional Development and Reflection

Course designed to assist students in the beginning development of their profession as teachers, become familiar with national, state, and district teaching standards for teachers and K-12 students and become knowledgeable on educational law. Students will develop an initial teaching philosophy paper that will reflect their personal expression of values and goals as they relate to their practice. This paper will be refined throughout the program. Additionally, students will begin observation and data gathering in their district’s learning community. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as ITP 454 and may be taken only once for credit.
