Ar 590 Advanced Arabic Syntax

History of the major schools of Arabic grammar and syntax of al- Kufah and al-Basrah; contribution of prominent grammarians: Abu al-Aswad al-Du’ali, al-Khalil Ibn Ahmad, and Sibawayh; major rules of Arabic syntax; the use of the connectors in Modern Standard Arabic. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Ar 490 and may be taken only once for credit.
